Lora Betron Campos, FNP-BC has been a registered nurse since 2015, and a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner since February 2022. But her journey in healthcare began much earlier — as an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT-B) in 2007.
In 2008, she joined the Army National Guard, where she deepened her commitment to service and resilience. Before healthcare, she earned a Bachelor's degree in Deaf Studies and worked as a substitute teacher in Los Angeles Unified School District, supporting both general and special education classrooms.
Her decision to pursue nursing came from a deep desire to serve others while channeling her passion for healthier living. She recognized that communities could be fundamentally transformed if obesity and depression were addressed at their roots — not just managed symptomatically.
This conviction was forged through personal experience. After going through a divorce, Lora turned to marathon running and triathlons as a way to avoid isolation. The unexpected result: she lost over 30 pounds and found significant relief from depression. Movement, community, and purpose became her medicine.
As part of a 7 day challenge in 2024, she published an e-book that reflects her values and beliefs in mindfulness. You can access the following link https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0D1GWFFCV where readers can explore her insights and practical exercises to enhance their daily lives.
Today, Lora works as a nurse practitioner contractor with the County of Contra Costa Healthcare while building Connect2-wellness — a practice designed to make sustainable, integrative healthcare accessible via telehealth to patients throughout California.
From the classroom to the emergency room to the exam room — every chapter shaped Lora's whole-person approach to care.
Lora's educational background in Deaf Studies and her years of teaching gave her deep empathy for diverse learners and a natural ability to explain complex ideas in accessible ways — a skill she brings directly to patient education.
Starting her clinical career as an EMT and serving in the Army National Guard, Lora developed a disciplined, calm-under-pressure approach to patient care and a service-first mentality that still defines how she practices today.
As an RN, Lora accumulated years of direct patient care experience across multiple settings, deepening her clinical knowledge and confirming her belief that treating the whole person — not just the presenting complaint — leads to better outcomes.
Lora achieved board certification as a Family Nurse Practitioner, gaining full prescriptive authority and the scope to manage complex, chronic, and preventive health needs for patients of all ages across California.
Lora recently earned her FitFlow yoga instructor certification — a dynamic sequence integrating cardio, weight training, and traditional yoga poses. FitFlow builds physical strength, balance, and endurance while fostering body-mind connection through breath and focused movement.
Lora recently earned her Food as Medicine certification, deepening her expertise in therapeutic nutrition and the use of whole foods and dietary strategies to prevent and manage chronic conditions — a powerful complement to her integrative, whole-person approach to care.
Lora founded Connect2-wellness with a clear mission: provide healthcare that patients can actually take home with them — habits, knowledge, and support that extend beyond the clinical encounter.
Through yoga, mindfulness, community events, and collaboration with other integrative medicine practitioners, Connect2-wellness is building healthy communities across California — one individual at a time.
